Position Summary
Advanced EV is seeking an experienced, reliable Inventory Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting core general accounting functions. This role plays a key part in inventory valuation, cost accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close, while partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Accounting
- Maintain accurate inventory balances across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Perform inventory reconciliations between sub-ledgers and the general ledger
- Analyze inventory movements, adjustments, and reserves (obsolete, slow-moving, shrinkage)
- Support inventory costing methods (FIFO, weighted average, standard cost, or actual cost)
- Prepare inventory-related journal entries and schedules
- Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger monthly
- Analyze inventory variances, scrap, rework, and obsolete parts
- Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and variance analysis
- Account for golf carts transitioned from finished goods inventory into rental fleet (capitalization vs. expense)
- Track rental fleet additions, disposals, transfers, and refurbishments
- Support depreciation schedules and useful life analysis for rental carts
- Coordinate with operations on fleet counts, refurb cycles, and asset tagging
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Assist with revenue-related accounting for rental services and cart sales (as applicable)
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting and management analysis
- Identify and implement improvements to inventory and accounting processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable) and internal controls
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve data accuracy
- Lead inventory and fixed asset components of month-end and year-end close
- Prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience with exposure to inventory accounting
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite)
Preferred:
- Military experience or MOS related to compliance, asset accountability, or logistics (preferred but not required).
